7WSM is a good cartridge, but it won't do anything a .270 or .280 won't do.
I have developed a strong dislike for most magnums over the years, because almost every year I end up wasting a day tracking a wounded animal that some jackass shot at 500 yards away with his super duper Remchester belchfire magnum.
If you know how to hunt, you don't need magnums. All of the old experienced hunters in my party use .270, .308 and .30-06
For those who have fought for it, freedom has a taste the protected will never know
I have a Savage 7mm WSM and I love it. Here in the KY woods I never get any 500yd shots and wouldn't have the optics for it even if I did. The reason I initially bought it was that I can hunt whitetail here or if I decide to hunt any other big game in N. America I can.
