Default 7mm-08 vs 30-06 in trade

I'm thinking about trading my savage 110 in 30-06 for a savage axis in 7mm-08 think its worth it or keep the 06

If you don't reload, nope. Bad trade. Even if you do, you should get some $$ out of the deal. The guy w/ the 7mm08 would be making out on the deal. Depending on your particular rifle it could be worth what his cost new. Just buy a new barrel in 7x57. The bolt face is the same as 06. Why do you want to trade yours?

I've been looking at the 7mm-08 and I like the ballistic of it and I have two 06s and I've been wanting something different but a few people said it's not worth it cuz the 110 is a better made rifle then the axis and I have an axis in 22-250 and I feel a difference in them

You answered your question. Get a 7x57 chambered barrel. It will do all the 7mm08 can plus.

In the Boer wars the South Africians beat the snot out of the Brits with it. They out ranged them by 100 yards w/ the '93 Mauser.

As far as long range accuracy, it is excellent. 7mm has great qualities.
