700 Varmint for $350

Good deals right now on Remington 700 Varmint line. The 700 ADL Varmint at Cabela's just went in sale for $399. Remington is doing a $50 rebate right now on any 700 with the Varmint label. I just picked one up in .223. Also available in 22-250 and 308. I've been wanting a tac or varmint for a while now. Lucky for me my wife is a sucker for sales. Can't wait to mount a scope on this boy and see what he's got. It's a good time to buy if you have been looking at a heavy barrel varmint rifle

Will do, waiting for mounts and rings to come in. Topping it with a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40.

The Varmints can be amazingly accurate. The first loads I tried in my left hand SPS Varmint in .308 with the Hornady 168 gr. Match would have all gone in one cluster had I done my part. I pulled a shot out of the group, or it would have been under a 1/2" at 100 yards. I was handicapped by the optic, which was a cheap 3-9x scope I put on it until I can get a good scope for it. The stocks on the SPS aren't that great, but that's the reason Remington can sell them cheaper($600). This spring I will also upgrade to an H-S Precision Sendero stock and a Timney trigger and a H-S Precision detachable mag kit. $399 is a steal for the ADL Varmint, especially with an additional $50 rebate. They are all the same great M700 barreled action, and you can put on a better stock later, which should show you some accuracy improvement. Here is a catalog pic of a Remington with the H-S stock, I'll probably go with the olive green spiderweb instead of the desert tan though.
