They are packed in "sardene" tins of 550 in wooden crates. The ammo itself is all copper colored (shell and bullet) and packed on stripper clips. The writing on the box apears to be chinese. I dont realy have a use for "armor piercing" rounds in my AK, so I was wondering what are they worth? are they anything special or should I just shoot them up as regular ammo?
I would like 100 rds

3 years, 5 months, 2 weeks and 2 days. Who's going to take the head shot?

Netnet- welcome to the forum- drop around to the intro thread and say hello when you get a minute.

Getting started here, it is always a good idea to check the DATE of of a thread you are responding to. In this case, over 3 years ago. Since this was your first post, we'll give you a pass on our usual ribbing about buying the thread a birthday cake.

With the incredibly high demand for ammo in the past 3 months, 7.62x39 is hard to find right now. Be patient- it is getting better.

Just for anyone reading this, the magnet test is not a great way to tell if there is a steel core in the bullet,as a lot of Chinese, and Warsaw pact ammo uses mild steel or other ferrous metal blends in the jackets, that will cause lead core bullets to stick to a magnet just as well.

Old thread, but maybe some new thoughts for folks.

Why should it be??? nothing illegal being discussed

I've used several thousand rounds of Chinese steel core. Damn good ammo. Ya just don't shoot it at rocks or steel plates.

I'd buy it today if it was available again in bulk.

Mildly corrosive. So what? You're supposed to clean your weapon anyway.
