I'm a 6.5x55 Swede user myself, but just shoot paper with mine. Last year seriously considered ordering a barrel from Shaw in .260 Remington for a Stevens 200 I wanted to rebarrel. Some of my fellow shooters at range I'm a member have come to like it. After some thought and research, decided to just add another 6.5 Swede to my collection of Swede military rifles and sporterized military rifles. Glad I did.

Mule06, if you reload a 6.5-06 may be a great option. It is not a barrel burner, but will not last as long as a x55. It will do more at 500 yards then what a .30-06 will do w/ a .30 180 gr. bullet at 300 yards. So does the 6.5x55 eqaul or pass the .30-06.

Fat finger syndrome!! Your good!! I do it all the time. For a hunter, I don't think you'll burn out anything in the 6.5 class. 2000 rounds for a hunter is pretty high.

Ya I'm liking the 6.5 -06 and I want a God cartridge that won't wreck a bbl if I go hog hunting or deer our elk

You would even be able to load down to 95..100 grain for some P-dog fun!!
3400fps+ w/ 95gr. That is smokin' But the x55 is still not far behind.

6.5x55 is a good cal. CZ still chambers it in there rifles and they are based on the mauser action and some have a single set trigger good quality guns good luck
