So basically it's like this

Henry
Marlin
Winchester

I'll look into the Henry...I've held a few and liked the feel.

For some reason I could never understand, any lever gun in .357 or .44 mag is A LOT more expensive than the .30-.30 version.

I guess because the ammo is cheaper.....they got to make their money back somehow I guess.

Kind of pisses me off.

Just got to find a used one.

Like you, I wanted a .357 lever gun to compliment my revolver for years but could not justify the $600 price tag.
Now I have a .40 Beretta and a Highpoint 4095 carbine. The carbine shoots 2" groups at 50 yds. and holds 10 rds. What else do I need...

Don't really like the Hi-Point myself.

But that is a good point.

I might look into getting the Sub-2000 instead since it takes Glock Mags. I'll get it in 9mm....

I have occasionally thought of getting one myself to compliment my .357. I have an older Marlin 336C in 30-30 and it is a sweet shooter. I was leaning toward the Marlin. Every once in a while I check around for a used one but havn't seen one lately. I really think the Henry and the Winchester would be good ones also. I really think either one of those 3 used would be good as long as they were in good condition.

Aye probably....problem is.

You can't find a used one in .357.

I might go with the Sub-2000 in 9mm...problem is though I don't like glocks so it wouldn't have the same pistol to carbine type deal as with the lever action for me.

I shot a friends Sub2000 and it shot ok, problem is everything on it is plastic including the sights, and there is no elevation adjustment. It shot to point of aim at 25 yds. but could not be adjusted beyond, not that you would use a 9mm for much more than 25 yds..Incidentally, he also had a 995 Carbine and it was much more accurate and stronger than the Sub2000. Compare them before you buy! I believe the Sub2000 costs more also.
