Buddy- sorry, but one is the company name, the other the generic name, but they are the same round. And the length that you give is shorter than the CASE length, much less the OAL of the cartridge.

Am going to suggest that you have a chamber casting made, and check the cartridge dimensions for certain. Something is not right here- and not unheard of for a rifle to be re-chambered, but updated caliber not marked.

Budy- rechambering is cutting the chamber to a different size/shape, for the purpose of changing the cartridge that a rifle shoots. If the first round loads and shoots ok, then it is probably chambered for that cartridge. If subsequent rounds will not feed, then problem can be (A) crud binding the movment of parts, (B) parts of the feed mechanism that are loose/worn/out of adjustment, (C) or overall length of loaded cartridge is excessive. The original black powder loads did use about a 98 grain bullet, which is likely shorter than a 115 gr bullet. You might load your rifle with some fired cases, and try to cycle them thru. If he fired cases cycle, rifle is clean, all parts working properly, then you have an older rifle that may require use of a cartridge loaded to shorter length. If you have access to a micrometer, here is a link to the length specs for 32-20. Pay attention to cae length, and overall lengths. See how they match up to your ammo. Good luck, pleae let us know what you find. .32-20 Winchester - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
