I have never tried the Limbsaver pads, but hear good things. I put a Pachmyer Decellerator pad on my 45-70 Guide Gun and it is a real kitten now. Felt recoil is no more than a 12 ga High Velocity 1 oz slug.
Yep, I'd go with the Pachmyer Decel pad over the Limbsaver every time.

My buddy has the same exact Savage 110 Sierra lite as I, his is .270, mine 7mm Rem mag. His kicks like a PO'ed mule, mine always let you know when you touched it off, but less felt recoil then his. I got into 6.5x55 when I had my neck surgery. You should take a look at it. Recoil is very mild and w/ 129gr at 2700+ fps it does a great job hunting. For close in, 150 yards, 9.3x57 is a ***** cat with big nasty 286gr thumpers. 232 or 250gr are about the same as a .223. I was a massive recoil junky, then I had surgery and got smarter!!

With the limbsaver on my 7mmRM, I can watch through the scope for the hit, that is tame.

I used to be the same way. Thought if it didn't wrap your shulder around your neck it wasn't a real gun. Surprise, surprise. Dead with a .22 is as dead with a 30-06. But I'm still gonna miss recoil and the big BANG! I'm going to research your suggestions.

Thanks to all

Robo,

You can fire a Cannon like a pocket pistol, nothing has any felt recoil for you!

I have a Remington M742 in .308, and it iss sweet to shoot, very little recoil, fast followup, multiple shots if need be and keep the scope on the target.

I started shooting a Win Mdl 70 270 back in 1952 . I was about six foot tall and weighed about 150 pounds. Over the years i have used various brands and caliber rifles. The last two elk I shot was with a 340 Weatherby rifle when my weight was 210 pounds. I dident notice any recoil when I shot them elk. Keep in shape and recoil will not be a issue.

Well now I see how it is now after I put a limbsave pad on it and had a new lighter trigger 3lbs installed.
