Default .303 ammo help?

While I do not own a .303, I have some ammo for it. I'm meeting with a guy next weekend who wants to buy it. Most of it is military surplus, and some rounds have red tips and black tips. What does this mean? I'll post pics.

MOST .303 Brit with a red ti is tracer, MOST with a black tip was an "observation" catridge- broke up in a puff of smoke on impact. Used in training to aid spotter of REAL long range shots, but there was also a black tipped Brock & Pomeroy cartridge from WAY back that was incendiary- baloon buster.

Thanks a lot!
The reds are tracers and the black is AP. I even found one drill round in the mix, but I'm keeping that one.

Oops, nope, it's a tracer in a drill round casing.

I suggest checking the bullets with a magnet. I suspect that the AP rounds will have a steel core.

Most are royal ordnance or royal labs. There are few others in the mix.
