300 Weatherby remington model 700
 

Hi, I just got a Remington model 700 in a 300 weatherby mag caliber. Since the weatherby ammo is hard to find can I shoot 300 Winchester mag rounds in a 300 Weatherby rifle?

NO!

They are two different calibers entirely. The .300 Wby is longer, and will allow the .300WinMag to chamber, but that leaves a lot of dead space in the chamber.

ONLY shoot .300 Wby, and know that it is a better round than the .300WM.

Keep an eye on Midway, as they sometimes have good sales on .300 Wby.

Out of curiosity what made you decide to get a Weatherby caliber? I don't own one simply because of the cost of the ammo.

Free is good. Makes up for a lot of expensive ammo.

Some people should NOT have access to firearms....

start reloading. I shoot an Ed Brown .300 Weatherby and reloading is the best way to go.
