I'm just not seeing a use for the 300 AAC blk in my world. A good 150gr .308 bullet and 10gr trail boss in a .308 bolt gun is far superior. Even without a suppressor it is more then quite enough to shoot without hearing protection.

jpattersonnh,

No qualms from me.

I do like to examine and expand all possibilities, with my arbitrary exceptions.
I have a short (too) light Remington 600 in 308 and load for it light (150gr at 2468FPS). I have a 4 min Red Dot mounted and from point blank to 220 or so yards, if the 'dot' is on the target, it is got.
Yet, I have and think very highly of my little M4 type, 16 inch SS, in 300 AAC Blackout, same 150gr pills only at around 1900 FPS. Different scoping system and good to 250-280 yards with no calculations on my part. Instant switch of mags to 110gr V-Max or (if I wanted to) 220gr sub sonics. It is just more fun to shoot.

As for the 7.62X39s... I have a private bias against anything that me or mine have been shot with or shot at with as far as that goes. Realistically, I have no problem with the weapons or round in physical form, just what it stands for to me.

So, the AK lovers will not get any competition from me in purchasing ammo or weapons of that type. Their options, just like I have mine.

The 300BO is NOT a replacement for the .308. Goodness!
It is a superb medium to short range cartridge that can complement an existing ar-15 with the change of an upper. It is a dream for reloaders. It is a dream for those building SBR's or ar-15 pistols. It is also great for those of us that have suppressors.
It is not for people who shoot beyond 200-300 yards. It is not for those who want to buy cheap factory ammo.
I have a PSA upper and love it. I just need a lot more brass to convert!

Someone just buying a new AR in .300 Blackout, probably not a terribly common occurrence. Especially for a first time buyer.
However, I already own a 5.56 AR15 & I reload.
In that context, a .300 Blackout upper & a set of dies seems like a natural & relatively inexpensive progression.

our enemies frequently use M16's 1911's M9 berrettas M60's mossberg and remington shotguns... whatever they are able to get their hands on including stinger missiles and f14 tomcats. i can understand not buying certain guns with nazi markings and such but its just an inanimate object. kinda on the order of sarah brady blaming guns but forgiving the fruitcake that shot her husband to impress jodie foster...
