My plan is to get a 308 bolt gun to go with the 300 Blk. They use the same bullets for reloading.

Another choice is 6.5 Grendel. It can hit at 1000 yards and is built on a standard AR platform. Everything is going to be hard to find in this climate.
6.8 spc has potential to to be a 600 + yards gun if you can find the 75 grain tactical loads. And are willing to $1.50 to $2 a shot. It was designed for the special forces as a medium range carbine with extra stopping power. Imagine an AK in 7.62 and an AR in 5.56 have a baby. It would be the 6.8 special. The .308 has always been a longer range cartridge. No opinion on a 6.5 Grendel I've never even physically seen one as the are so rare.

That is true of most calibers. Once the ammo rush dies down, 300 Blk will be on the shelves. It is not a fad gun as some claim. 308 is way more effective at 200 yard+ range though.

If you have a reloader then it is not hard at all....
Took me all of 5 minutes to track down necessary reloading/resizing components.

If your intended use is defence and target/hobby the lesser rounds are fine. But your intended use is hunting go with the 308!!!

300 Blackout is OK but the 308 is vastly more versatile if hunting might be on the menu. Not in love with the 300, if I want an intermediate 30 cal I'll get an AK 7.62x39 is more available, less expensive and more powerful then the 300 Blackout.

I have a 300 blackout and love it but its not for long range. 308 is what you need and everyone's pretty much said why. It's an amazing round
