I agree. Plan small, miss small.

Your 30-30 hunting rifle, when pressed into service in the home

for SD, will be seen for what it was- you used what you had at hand,

to save your life and family.

Unlike, say, a pistol with what many would consider a "better"

caliber for SD. Over-penetration is an issue, but if you hit the hip-bone

you'll spend most of your bullet's terminal energy in the BGs body.

So aim directly at his jewels...

thanks for the input guys, been deciding a while ago to purchase a ar15 but seeing how it can go against me even in court, il stay away from it. not not interested in the black tool. am considering of purchasing a lever action 38/357 rifle....cant purchase a handgun yet till 21, tho once i do, il go for something nice, maybe a .32 or a 380 or 40mm...in the meantime its either a Winchester 94ae 30-30 or 270wsm till then,

a g shoot in self defense is a good shoot. choice of ammunition only arises when someone shoots someone else and its not defense of life. in other words a murder trial.

if it is truly in defense of life it doesnt matter whether the round used is a nerf dart or shell from a howitzer.

Armed-citizen Not knowing where you live check your states laws. In some states you can not be sued for defending you self , your family or even others. Some here may not have that law in there state or they don't know there states laws. Do yourself a favor and educate your self to your states laws first before worry'n about what gun you use. Go to a gun forum for your state ,read your states laws on defending your rights and the US Concealed Carry site.
