there are several different versions the one i used for my sp1 was actually made by colt. that was just the first one i ran across on a google search.

Ok so if I go 458 socom, what do I need to do? And what other game can it be used for, what about somthing bigger than buck? Also what kind of range does it have? You have perked my intrest in this round.

The .458 Socom provides stout 45/70 ballistics from an AR15 platform. Anything you can use the 45/70 on you can use the .458 Socom on-that means anything in North America within it's range limitations.

Go with the 458 SOCOM. Rock River makes a good one both in rifles and an upper assembly. You can get ammunition for it or dies to reload it.

Indeed. What they both said. 458 SOCOM is a better choice and a more reliable performer.

Max hunting range 150-200 yds. 200 extreme upper limit.

The rra one or directly from teppojutsu. Mine is a rra midlength.
