Default 30-06 frame match up to a 308?
can i get a 30-06 and make it into a 308 easy. do i just change the barrel or what do i do?

Yes,The bolt heads are the same diameter.As long as the barrel shank and thread pitch is the same they will interchange.

A lot of guy's build short action calibers on long actions so they can still have long COAL,and still fit into a magazine.
