Probably 7.62 NATO, 8mm Mauser or somthing more powerful like the Lapua Magnum

You will be fine with a 180 gr. projectile. This cartidge is probably the most versitile and is a good all around hunting caliber. You never know what you will run into in the Alaska Wilderness. It's good to have something that will take down about anything. Good luck up there.
