My dad has had a sako .264 since the early seventies. It shoots as good today as it did then. IMO the barrel will last as long as any other, if you don't get it too hot. It certainly isn't any more "overbore" than any WSM cartridge. Like the 220 swift, when anything capable of "hyper-velocity" comes out, there are those who push it to the limit and burn them up. Using moderate loads and letting the barrel cool, you'll never have a problem. My dodge pickup will go 100 mph, but I don't always drive that fast... __________________ Wait, was this thing on? |
