go to Howa's website and look up the specs on your rifle. they should list the twist rate in the specs. i don't think that it's marked on the gun itself.

Oh most definately. Jack o'connor said next to a 270, one of the best deer cartridges is a 25-06

that's what mine is. 1-10 is pretty standard. most of the gunmakers put the twist in a range that will allow flexibility in various bullets weights that can be shot through it. custom barrel makers will offer different rates of twist to allow you to optimize the barrel to the bullet weight you desire to shoot.

you will like the 25-06, very easy caliber to reload and recoil isn't bad. the first one i owned was in a remington M700 BDL that i bought in 1988, i have been a fan of it ever since and will probably always own at least one rifle chambered in it.

You bet my kid has killed 4 antalope an 5 deer with a 25/06 not one needed a second shot
