.223 price gouging
So 6 months ago I bought 1000 rounds of 62 grain federal ammo from CTD for around $450. I always keep tabs on ammo trying to find a deal and we all know now it's nearly impossible to find 223 ammo (which aren't bulk tracer rounds). So I checked last night and was amazed to find 1000 rounds of the same 62gr penetrator rounds. What shocked me was they wanted $999 for it. That's ridiculous, that's a dollar a bullet. Shame on them. Needless to say I went to midways sight and bought a reloading press and I found rcbs dies on amazon.

Lol wow!!! Time to put my guns and ammo away and pull out my sling shot and rocks out.

1k rounds of Lake City was selling for $800 + at the Ft.Worth gun show yesterday. I LMAO,at all the idiots spending that much for ammo.

Was thinking the same thing actually. I read that .223 was hard to cast for because of the gas check though. Unless someone with experience says otherwise I imagine I'll be buying the bullets precast.

Yep, we went to the Houston gun show this past weekend and saw the same ridiculous prices on .223. Glad i stocked up a couple of months ago. Also crazy how the same gun I paid $650 for 2 months ago, now costs $1,200.

I went to a gun show in Fort Wayne Indiana yesterday. 223 ammo was bouncing around a dollar each (give or take) for 500+ rounds. And I didn't see a single AR15 for under 1300. One guy had a dpms for $2100. Efen nuts

Some people have no shame. I stocked up over the last 4yrs when this crap happened in 08. I have plenty of ammo in all calibers that I own including .223/5.56. I went to my LGS today to buy some cleaning supplies and just for laughs I asked the kid behind the gun counter if he had any 22lr. he said no and for some reason got down and looked on the bottom shelf in the back and I'll be darned if he didnt come back up with a brick of american eagle 40gr solid. I asked how much and he said $23. Sold. To the man who didnt really need any but has more anyway. It was pretty cool. People were looking at me like they were pissed and envious. Put me well over 4,000rds of 22lr.

Last I bought ranged between $0.27 - $0.33/round for 62 gr. within past two years (and they were all brass). I do know Wolf was selling on GunBroker for $0.99/round...

I see mags selling for between $1.33 and $1.80 per round of capacity.

There is no doubt: people do not trust this Administration and The Left.

I keep a certain amount of each caliber put away. Don't even count it as having any. Even if I had 30 boxes in my stash, and 3 out, I have three boxes.

I'm down to 6 boxes of 223, I could buy 20 more and I'd still have 6 boxes.

It's a good way of keeping what you need on hand.
