Splane please. I have hunted a few animals in the USA, but have never hunted in Africa or Europe, Asia, etc, soooo..........What is a bong, and is it best to put one down with a 22, or a 458?

My apologies to all...

I don't know what came over me.

I think the discussion is veering dangerously close to putting down the velo dog with something other than the proper tool, the velo dog revolver - and that would be too much to bear.

That's too much to bear, not too much for bear, by the way.

Bong- Australian slang for a lake:

Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree
And he sang as he watched and waited till his billy boiled
You'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me

The Velocipede Dog 5.56 was for bicycle riders of the 19th century to discourage dog bits. It was less powerful than a .22 LR. It was loaded with a jacketed bullet but more often not. The more human loads were loaded with spices or rock salt. If you want to shoot a "Grizz" with a load of Cinnamon and salt have at it. You will end up a pile of ? On rock.

Dog bits? Which bits? The good bits, or just bits?

And human loads? So you reccomend the Velo Dog as a SD round, huh? Never would have thought of that....

Say, do you suppose that .458 will be safe in my Iver Johnson single shot .410? Cause I heard you can shoot .45 cartridges in a .410. How about in a Judge? Or a Snake Charmer....
