Hi can some one tell me why people want to keep away from .22 hornet rifles I really want one but people say the barrels are crap on them and they are not reliable thanks
The problem could be that older .22 Hornets were made w/ a .223 groove diameter. The later ones were made w/ a .244 groove diameter. When the wrong size bullet was fired in the wrong size barrel, there were accuracy problems. The Hornet thus developed this bad rep due to no fault of its own.

i noticed Hornady has brought out a 17 Hornet, based of the 22 Hornet, and Savage has bolt action rifle, the M25 newly chambered for this round. it is definately on my list of guns to check out in the near future. should be interesting.
Axx I have shot the Hornet and the .218 Bee for many years. My favorite Hornet is the Ruger #3 . The little #3 went up into the Big Horn Mtns every spring for the Rock Chuck Shoots. The #3 has been out of production for years. They do show up on gun auctions. Good Luck
