Should work ok. Remember, shot placement is the key.

Check legality in YOUR state. Not legal here in VA- too small.

I know that if I use it I will need to make the shot count I have killed some deer in my time with gun and bow I'm at the point where it's time to start enjoying the woods around me and watching my son as he is a young hunter so if that deer just don't give me that perfect shot he gets to walk another day

Aus hav rules which are fairly good. A 243min for smaller deer an 270min for big deer.
In sayin that seen does go down with 223/22250s with a good shot.

Try not to hit bone with the 22-250 I shot 2 in the shoulder and the bone splintered in thousands of pieces ruining the meat. A vital shot works fine.

Although it took a few attempts, (Grammar), I understood what was being expressed.
I agree, the .243 will take a deer and .270 will surely take a larger deer.
I do not agree with hunting a Whitetail with a .22 cal and never will.
I've seen a few shot with .22 and most of them end up lost.
If you've named yourself after the 35 whelen, then we have something in common, it's also my favorite round for anything in North America.
