204 Ruger Question

This seems like a great round, but don't know much about it. Anyone out there shoot it? Do you like it? Pro's/Cons?

I had an old friend that passed away. He shot a CZ527 in .204. He could drop a coyote out to 350 yards.

Im not into it, this imho tho an only mine, its a fast pretty flat shootin yote buster but the cost for those that dont reload is just well to high to volume shoot. Plenty of punch for any small game, has become a pretty common round easy to buy ammo, very min recoil so all day shooting is a breeze. I have an old remington in 22/250 as well as a .204 but just dont grab the 204 much. Poor lil thing wants to play but I dont let it out much. Im just stuck on my ol 22/250

After alot of shootin it tho the only con is the price of ammo for those that dont reload. In that case the .223 is best bet

It's a wonderful little round with 0 recoil! Pretty cool to be able to watch your impacts through the scope. Yea you can find 223 ammo cheaper but it's as cheap and in some cases cheaper than 22-250, and definitely cheaper than 220 swift. If a guy owns a good 223 or 250 I wouldn't say the 204 is a must, but I love mine and carry it as much as the others!

i like my Remington M700 in 204 Ruger! very fast and flat shooting. little recoil and easy to reload. doesn't require a large amount of powder to exceed 4000 FPS muzzle velocity. i use mine for target shooting, but it's an excellent round for varmint hunting at reasonable ranges. quite a few rifles are chambered in this round, so there are many choices to be made.

i agree that the 22-250 is better. able to exceed the distances of the 204 using a bit heavier bullet. but the 204 is a very accurate round that has next to no recoil, and is a lot of fun to shoot. if used one for hunting, i would probably lean towards the 22-250. the 204 is a niche round that's just a nice round that's fun to shoot and good for varmint hunting at reasonable distances. also if you reload, there are much more bullet choices for the 22-250 than the 204.

its a decent round under about 250 yards. once you get past 200 or so it starts dropping like a rock. its purely a short range bullet. friend of mine has a savage in 204 its fun to shoot but 223 is a better round
