Default 1874 Enfield in .25 Krag

Every once in a while something nice happens. I ran into a fella that really wanted a SxS or O/U. He wanted to trade for this 1874 Enfield. I had an old Savage that he liked, and that sealed the deal. It came complete with bullets, brass and dies. The only problem I have is not knowing much – if anything, actually – about .25 Krag. Any tips on reloading this caliber, general shooting knowledge of the 1874 Enfield, etc., would be very much appreciated.

Wow---nice old rifle. Everything I can find on 25 Krag says there were half a dozen versions,
all pure wildcat. What are the markings on the barrel and dies? Looks like there were versions
of the 25 Krag over 100 years ago.

That thing would look sweet with a couple of feet of Unertl sitting on top of it.

Thanks! And I couldn't agree more.

iPhone close-up photography isn't that great, but this is the only thing on it - I do believe that is an 11. The dies say 25 KRAG and they are RBCS, that's it. Mystery to me.
