Default 110BA .338 Lapua

My wife surprised me for Christmas with this beautiful rifle. The only thing I can see hunting with it here in Idaho is elk. I may have to go to Canada for moose but I am not sure if it
Is practical. Any thoughts?

My cousin bought a 338 Lapua . After he realized how expensive the ammo is, he offered it to me for $1500. There was an article in one of the hunting magazines comparing different 338 caliber cartridges. The didn't include the 338 Lapua because they considered it more of a tactical round than a hunting round.

I buy all my ammo at able amino.com got 300 rnds of .338 for just over $200 on sale. The rounds are good, not magnetic, all have fired accurate so far. About 80 rounds in. Took three weeks to fire that many. All practice shots.
