Any thoughts on the Mosin's sold by Aim Surplus? Seems like an inexpensive way to get into one or two of these old rifles.

Seems like a good deal, but after shipping and FFL fees, seems you could get locally for right at the same amount. Check some local dealers and see what is out there.

i've bought 6 from AIMsurplus...all where in great shape....price of the round receiver's shipped to my door was 101bucks.i've bought 2 from J&G, price was 106 to my door,& i bought 2 from SOG 179bucks to door, but thats when they had free shipping...all rifles where in good to very good shape.....about 20 or so bucks cheaper than local mom n pop gunshops charge...around here anyways..get one or ten....you want be sorry...AIM also has Polish 7.62x54r ammo for 79.95 440rd cans & this stuff has very good accuracy..atleast it does in my mosin clone sniper

also SGT...if you dont have your C&R....get one!...after you buy two of these rifles...the 30dollar lic. for 3years is payed in full by then....but get ready to be broke

OK, I got some info. I was incorrect that it is a p Series as it was not re-barreled by the Finns. It is a Finn though. Most likely a Japanese (Russo-Japanese war, 1904-1905) capture that was sold to Finland in the early 1920's. The re-stamped serial # is Finn as is the rear sight markings.
