Default '03 Springfield vs 1917 eddystone

I saw both at the gun show yesterday in concord NH. What are the pros and cons of both, also some history of both. I know I can look it up on the web, but I prefer and value the members knowledge here. Thanks, Terry.

It really comes down to personal prefrence. I am partial to the M1917. You need to be careful w/ early 1903's. You can check the serial number range for effected serial numbers on line.

I have shot my 03, not my 1917... Don't know why, just opted to shoot one over the other. Big differences in mine are sights and the bolt style.
