645 mags will work in the 4506 w/o modification. The 645 mags had a steel base plate, the 4506 - plastic. And no, you cannot just put the later plastic base on the earlier mags, The 645 mags are just slightly shorter and the thicker plastic base plate will catch on the mag well and not allow the mag to seat.

I just picked up a SW 915, which is the un-dressy version of this gun basically, for my carry gun

Yours sure looks nice! This line and it's derivatives get glowing reviews from LEOs everywhere I look. For those of us not enamored with plastic guns, this sure is a nice option

Shipping is a bit high but if they can't be got elsewhere...

I bought the last S&W mags I could find, all used, for $33 each! Last year I could find them for $12 to $15 but now they are gone. I have about 20 left.

Wow, they HAVE gone up, even Mec-Gars are $30! I also was lucky to stock up when they were cheap and have 15 for three 3rd gen 9mms.

I had one for a couple of years. Sold it unfired. Problem for me is too large hands. Very happy with my Glocks and Para.

Great guns. Get one before the price goes up.

I took the curved grip off and installed a straight grip. I like the way it feels and how it shoots now. Oh, and it looks a bit sexier too.
