Default HK P30sk?

Why did they make the P30sk that's basically a bigger, heavier P2000sk with the market going crazy over striker fired subcompacts right now? Why not ride out the popularity of the VP9 and make the VP9sk? Am I missing something here? I for one would definitely consider a VP9sk over a P30sk. I guess they figure if they introduce the VP9sk before the P30sk then they would never sell enough to justify production. If the P30sk is priced near its full sized counterpart I see only HK fanboys buying these. I don't doubt it will be a good carry piece, but I don't think it's going to offer anything more than the P2000sk (which is an excellent, pricey ccw) has already. I'm not in marketing but if I was part of the HK team I would strike while the VP9 was still buzzing.

I am sticking with my P2000sk 9mm (light LEM) cause it's already paid for and the P30sk are NOT for sale here in Kalifornia...

They lowered the price of the P2000 this year. I picked up a P2000sk earlier this year for $625. I sent the slide off to HK to get night sights installed.

I've held the P30sk - I don't like the grip as much as the P2000sk...

I'll stick with a USP compact, it gives you the cock-n-lock option.

At the recently lowered price for the HK P2000, I consider this a true bargain for this quality of pistol---and yeah, I know, you can buy a Glock or XD for less, but who cares…!

Default HK P30sk?

I had arranged to purchase an H&K P2000 9mm from a private seller a few months ago. Long story short, the guy showed up w/ a pistol that looked like it had been beaten like a red headed step child, had only 1 mag, and no case. Needless to say, I turned down the offer.

Disappointed, I began to walk out of the gun shop when the P30sk caught my eye. It came w/ 3 mags, case and all original literature. I opted for the V3 (although they had a V1 available as well) w/ TruDot illuminated sights because of the rear decocker and no external safety.

Couldn't be happier with my purchase! Yes, the grip is a little short (the pinky gets lonely) and it holds only 10 rounds however you really can't go wrong with ANY H&K, right? I think H&K made the P30sk due to the success of the P30 and because the public has an obsession w/ concealable handguns. Just my opinion, though! remember that all the sub compacts, Glock, HK and some Sigs started coming out when we had the 10 round magazine limit and some states still have the 10 round limit.
