Taurus, Cobra, and Jimenez 380's. worth Considering?

The Ruger 380 I was looking at is $399 because it comes with a LaserMax. But...I'm not sure if I want to spend $400 plus tax and FFL fees. So, after some searching I came across these less expensive options. Forums are filled with good and bad reviews of every gun, even the most expensive. Obviously the ones I mentioned in the title might have less of a following and less features, but what are your thoughts on these much less expensive alternatives. I'm looking for a carry gun that won't "break the bank".

Thanks for your input.

Those cheap guns are horrible! Stay away from them and get the Ruger LCP without the laser they're $310ish.

For what I understand Jimenez is a POS. I've had good experience with Taurus, but not on there .380 line. There customer service worked really well with me when I needed a repair on a 9mm of theres.
Honestly, I think Rugers your best bet. Just get one without a laser. There around 300 without one. Or we'll used to be

Jimenez keeps getting sued out of business and coming back under new names.

I missed the Taurus that one I might consider as the 2nd option.

Forget the Cobra and Jimenez :(
Shop around for a quality used gun---

I own many firearms including several from each manufacturer. The Jiminez 380 is a lower quality striker fired blow back model that has a pressure fitted and pinned barrel that really needs a little work to feed reliably. Not hard, but more than a fluff and buff. Taurus can be OK if you get a newer one. Watch limp wristing for all of the ultra light 380s. Number 1 cause of feeding problems. Both can be fun but the Ruger is worth saving just a bit longer for.

Nothing wrong with a Taurus. The others are a little iffy.

the Taurus is the best option of the three, the Cobra and the Jiminez are junk. better suited as trotline weights than pistols.

the suggestion of looking or used is a good one. sometimes you can find some really decent pistols for a decent price going used.

I have several Taurus pistols and they've worked great for me. The PT145 is my EDC. I recently bought a couple of 24/7 G2 Standard pistols in .45 and 9mm, I love them too.
