New Pac-Lite For My MKII

1 Attachment(s)
I decided to do some modifications to my MKII. The first things ordered were these parts from Tactical Solutions. The Pac-Lite upper is lightweight aluminum with flutes compared to the solid stainless steel bull barrel from the factory. They come with threaded barrels. I got the 4.5" upper and added the red fiber optic front sight and ordered the compensator also. This gun balances to much better now and is considerably lighter. I'm going to get a VQ sear and a Clark bushing next as well as a different set of grips.

But here it is so far.

Just wanted to give an update on the Pac-Lite after I've had a chance to put a few hundred rounds through it.

First thing I really, REALLY like about this setup is that it balances much better now. The factory stainless bull barrel was muzzle heavy and felt like it wanted to dip after extended range sessions. Not the case with the Pac-Lite. This things is incredibly light and really the only noticeable weight is in the grip frame and not the barrel.

Second thing I really like is the red fiber optic front sight. That's kind of a personal preference though. It's easy for me to pick up and get on target quickly with.

I haven't noticed any difference in accuracy, plus or minus, so I'd say it's on par with the factory barrel and that's pretty dang good. Overall I'm very happy with the decision and I've already been looking for another Mk II so that I can get a 6" Pac-Lite also.

That looks pretty cool. Better than my MKI.

The Pac-Lite will fit your MK 1 also. That's the great thing about these. They're like an AR upper. Just put your bolt and pin in and you're set. And if you keep your factory barrel you can immediately put the gun back to factory condition. Nothing is altered on the gun.

I have one on a MKIII 22/45. It's a serious upgrade to any Ruger MK I-II-III or Browning Buckmark in my opinion. The balance is great and makes them scary accurate.:)

Couldn't agree more. I'm sure it's a really light combo with the 22/45 frame.

Seriously? How much does it go for?

MSRP on the 4.5" without the flutes is $340 and fluted is another $10. MSRP on the 6" is $360 without flutes and $10 with.

I'm selling the 4.5" for $290 and $300 and the 6" for $320 and $330. They also come in different colors. Check out their website www.tacticalsol.com.

 that's more than I spent on the gun. With my (lack of) skill it is not a good investment for me but that wont stop me from drooling over it.
