Default LC9 Firing Pin

The firing pin in my LC9 slides freely forward and can extend 1/4 inch into chamber when moving the gun. I don't know much about gun repair but can anyone tell what is causing this ? I do know this should not happen : ). Is this easy to fix and has this happened to anyone else ? Any help would be great.

Ur firing pin spring must be broken or weak. I have no experience except field stripping. Take it to a gunsmith

Go to Ruger site, there is a video showing how to take down striker pin. It's not difficult
