These guns come with plastic guide rods first and for-most because they're cheaper and they are also lighter and they work! They also bend and flex and chafe, but in reality the rest of the polymer frame will probably give out first
The indians used stone arrowheads that are still usable a thousand years later. The indians were slaughtered by guns that would only last a few hundred rounds without something breaking.

I own a Glock, it is not made of polymer. The Glock is made of Gaston's Fantastic Plastic. I even have a Fantastic Plastic holster for the Glock.

I never say "Clip" so you must be calling someone else out.
If the Glock works for you,..Mazel Tov....

I have a synthetic(polymer) guide rod in one of my pistols, the recoil/guide rod was one assembly, on mine the spring failed and started digging into the guide rod creating issues with cycling.

S&W sent out one for free, they stated on average figure 1000 rounds before replacing, i probably had close to 7-8k rounds.

Don't be afraid of it. It will function just fine.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
I got this LC 9 to replace my PD95 as a carry gun.
It's smaller, lighter and just as effective I believe.

One of the 3 or 4 best Guns In its class Catagory. I have mine just a bit over 2 years, with close to 1500 rounds through it. All I have done is change the Spring, and add a laser which I take off and put back on as I please, and 2 of my extra Mags( of 6 total) are the Ext. 9 rounders.

I have the Galloway Precision stainless steel guide rod and the 20lbs recoil springs in my LC9. I like it better than stock and trust it a bit more too.

Keep in mind: the cleaner you keep her the better she runs. But with that, I have had less then 10 FTF's/FTE's in almost 1500 rounds. Keep the chamber and feed ramp as shiny like new as you can. She does feed HP 's but some hang up here and there, esp. The Remington Golden Sabers, due to the wide opening in the tip,.HP's that aren't as wide don't cause feeding problems. Rounds like the Hornady Critical Defense & Duty run fine. So do Fiocchi's, Federals' and a few others. Also get either a few of the ext. Mags, or the rubber overgrip for it,..it makes a difference..
