Brass butted .44..........

This Super Blackhawk is another in my stable, with a brass grip frame and walnut grips by Cary Chapman. In the summer of 1981 I killed a groundhog at 110 yards with this gun, the best field shot I think I ever made.

This gun also stands at about 17,000 round fired.

thats a pretty gun for a blackhawk. i think of most ruger revolvers as workhammers not artwork but that is a pretty one

Love Love Hate Hate that'un
Love 3 screws
Love the look of brass on SA's
Not fond of un-fluted clys (just looks)
Hate the 7 1/2" barrel (no, cant really pinpoint why :o)
Overall a beauty

Well, Ole Hoss, maybe you'd like this one a little better. No brass, but three screw, 4 5/8" barrel and flutes on the cylinder. Alas, its no magnum, just a plain ol' .44 Special.

As to 7 1/2" barrel, I don't believe I could have made that shot with a shorter barrel. Better sight picture, and my bullet left the muzzle at a clocked 1400 fps.

P.S. I do believe you've been around about as long as I have!

O yeah! That's wat I like!
