For carry ammo I use only Hornady Critical Defense or Corbon Pwrball.

What I advise is to shoot at least 2 mags (two different mags is you are going to carry an extra mag) of your carry ammo to:
1. Verify the function of the ammo in your weapon, and
2. To familiarize you to the feel and zero of your carry ammo.
In today's world this will not be cheap, but it is worth the expanse!

So, is there anyone who has done a comprehensive test lately? I read the article on Chuck Hawk's site, but that article is by "Unknown", and not dated........I'm tending to think Hornady Critical Defense it the way to go. Seems like quality stuff, and it cycles good in my Sig P938.

Seems like 2 mags worth is not good enough, and 200+ rounds is way too much. I just cannot afford 200, but 2 mags isn't even a box......

use what makes you comfortable with know your firearm will perform to your needs. if you're comfortable with 50 rounds and it functions fine, then by all means go with it. how much you shoot aand practice is determined by the individual.

You know it just dawned on me today that the Critical defense is for small autos, and Critical Duty is for full size autos. So that got me thinking, any issues with running Critical Duty ammo in pistol caliber carbines? (Other than the standard runs some to make sure it likes the ammo issue.) I've got a Beretta 96A1, and a 40 S&W CX4.
