I'm about to purchase my first handgun and I walked into my local dealer and seen these two handguns I liked. I will eventually have my carry and conceal license. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information and thoughts on which to choose.

Both are good guns. Question is which feels better for you? Is one easier to conceal than the other? Does one seem to point better than the other for you? Can you get ammo?

I really like the 2022 myself, but I guess it depends on caliber. If you're new to shooting, the 2022 in 9mm is a solid choice. The pistol itself is not terribly expensive, is of good quality, and has a good reputation for quality.

The P220 has a great reputation for reliability and accuracy but I don't recommend the .45 for a first gun. I think if you were going to go with a .45 the SIG is probably one of the better choices.

There is also the P227 coming soon which is the 220 but with a larger magazine capacity. Honestly though, maybe not worth waiting for as it is just a 10 rounder.

Of course, 9mm and .45 are both difficult to find right now. The 2022 is available in .40 S&W, but like .45 not something I generally encourage for a brand new shooter. However, .40 S&W is still on the shelves, but in limited quantities as well.

I've had the 220 and now own the 2022 in .40 cal. It is light, great ergonomics, and nice sights. This is now my pillow gun. I have put many rounds through it and never had problems.the only mod I did ,is the Springco recoil reducer guide rod.I replaced it only because I don't like the plastic guide rod it came with. Not that the recoil was bad, but if I'm replacing the guiderod why not get the added benefit of quick follow up shots. Mine came with a Sig laser for $409. You can't beat that. the Springco guide rod was $40 I think. Go with the 2022 , you will not be disappointed.

I love my 2022, she shoots great and is a great value for a sig. Can be concealed nicely too. Might try to get it in .40 tho bc 9mm is damn hard to find and I still see .40 everywhere

My brother hates Cali too, mainly cause of the gun laws.
