If my p226 SAO Elite is the same as a standard DA/SA elite then the difference in the elites and standard are that they have front cocking serrations and a beaver tail. Then you have your dark elites and sport models and what not. Pretty much just cosmetic differences and maybe a change in grips are serrations or a occasional beavertail. My model p226 probably strays the furthest from a standard model just because it is single action only with a thumb safety as opposed to traditional sig DA/SA action. I love mine.

And of the older pistols, the P-6(225) is also a sweetheart. It has a large following. Only available in 9mm. It is a compact, 8 round single stack mag.
