I have a sig scorpion and I love it. Great accuracy right out of the box. Plus the grips on it are perfect. Has a great feel and balance.

sorry i can't vote. simply put, if you ae going to buy a 1911, start shopping. the right one will let you know! i know this from experiance!

the Sig 1911's are a good pistol. many people are very pleased with them and they make a quality product without a doubt. Colt also makes a great 1911, and are the original 1911 manufacterer. you can't go wrong with a Colt for sure either.

you'll know the right one when you pick it up!

Not gonna slam on the Sig, no doubt a fine piece. That said, I've got two Colts that keep me from being totally objective.

Sig makes an excellent 1911 pistol. I have owned three of them, and all three were very reliable. You should know that the Sig 1911's are not exactly like the typical 80-series 1911 design, though. The extractor is external, like the S & W, and the slide has a different profile and size. The latter only comes into play when fitting to a holster. My Sigs were also pretty finicky about Magazines. Any magazine made by Checkmate worked great. Others would work, but the Checkmate follower is the only one that would get the slide to lock back after the final round in the mag was fired. No complaints on the Sig, though. I still own a Scorpion like the one pictured above...great pistol

I vote yes. I finally saw one in a shop about two weeks ago and it was a beautiful piece. I'd love a full review and range report before I purchase. Lol
I don't need No stinking signature.

Having an external extractor negates SIG as a true 1911 to many purists. Personally I think there is nothing wrong with perfecting a great firearm, as I thing SIG did with their 1911. That said, I love my SIG 1911. It's solid, reliable, worth the cost and would buy one again.

I voted yes. The Sig 1911 is a very fine gun. Then save up and get a Colt, too.

I had both a Sig 1911 and a Colt 1911 at the same time. My little brother wanted to get into shooting and wanted to buy one of them. Long story short I sold him the Colt. I loved it, but in the end the Sig was much more accurate and just felt better shooting. I'd say if you want a great pistol that's very accurate out of the box get the sig, but you are going to pay for that. They run about 1200 bucks. You could pick up two used colts for that if you looked hard.
