Default Sig P320 vs glock 17

Just curious on how these 2 models differ in terms of felt recoil and such from those who have shot both. Obviously I'm asking about the P320 in 9mm as well.

Both are very easy shooters. Pick the one you like and enjoy.

Glocks are great pistols, no denying that, but to me they feel like you're holding a 2x4. The Sig P320c on the other hand feels like shaking a good friends hand. It has a great feel to it plus I think the trigger is much better. Try one and see what you think.

T would wait a while to buy a Sig. They have been out less than a year. Not many Sig 320's are out on the market. I have never seen a Sig of any kind in this area at an IDPA match. We have large matches with 60 to 100 shooters. No one shoots a Sig. It could be that Sig is not IDPA friendly. Any gun with a safety or decocker behind your thumb is not IDPA friendly.

Another issue is accessories. You will find hundreds of custom made holsters for a Glock, not so many for a Sig, even the older models. I love a Ruger P95 but I ended up ditching the Ruger because all I could find is cheap generic holsters for it. I do not mind having a holster custom made out of exotic materials. But I have to find a holster that works for the gun before I am going to spend $350 on an alligator hide holster and belt.

Ya I'm not looking to buy just now as I have some other stuff to take care of first. Right now I am trying to get a feel for which to get when I have the money saved for it.

Word on the street is that many long-time (and Elite level) competitors are turning in record times with .... the P320. These are Glock users, too, that are getting back on target faster with the P320 before they are even familiar with it. I'll look for a link but there is a very credible story of a Master competitor who beat his own record split times the very first time he ever shot a P320!

It is rumored that a few LEAs are going to it, as well. With LE in on the act, the accessories will come.

I don't believe it is even offered with any type of safety at the moment. I know a trigger safety (similar to Glocks) is planned and so is a manual safety (needed for military contracts) but I have yet to see either for sale. They may be out there, but damned if I can find them.

The reviews are starting to pile up on these and the those done by someone without an agenda all indicate a big-time winner here. You should definitely try one if you're intrigued by it.

OP- Both the G17 and the P320 are good guns. Try both, live fire if you can, and choose the one you like. All street chatter sums up to zero.

The selling point of the P320 is the multi caliber platform. It matters more in Europe where the number of handguns you own is limited. Glock has an excellent service record and a cottage industry for upgrades. I doubt the 320 will dislodge it, but if you shoot it better than the Glock, nothing else matters. Don't worry about "shaving the milliseconds",
