Default Sig P238 Sport Model

Why is this model not listed on Sig's website? What's with that?

From what I've read, it is kind of like a special edition. It has some of the features of a few of the different models and comes with two magazines opposed to just one. I ran into the same question looking for a p938.

I just bought one. It is a feature rich model. 6 round mag, 7 round mag, hogue grips, pocket holster and fiber optic sight with sig lite in the rear. All for about $550 out the door? I will take that action all day long!

I read the following on a Sig forum post.

Just to confound consumers SIG will make special runs of P238s that are unique to a retailer/dealer...as long as enough guns are ordered. If a retailer is willing to order 500 or 600 PP238s, SIG will FrankenSIG a "special" P238 for them.

I called sig and the customer service rep confirmed that the Sports 12 was a special production run for one of their larger retailers.

The rep also said that they are selling them at a "sweet price." But they are not a cheap gun. Same parts, special run. Great price.

Happily! It's a nice looking gun and it comes standard with 2 mags (6&7 round extended), pocket holster (no kydex owb), Hogue grips, and fiber optic/ night sights (same as equinox). I paid $525 out the door!

It did not come with a hard case so I picked up this little number off Amazon. Looks like a day planner or case for a GPS. Perfect for quick trips out and about. I am vary happy with this setup.
