If you like the cool factor of having a SEAL version then go for it. If it is just going to be a range gun and wont be exposed to harsh conditions then a normal p226 will suit you just fine and will save you a couple of hundred dollars. If it were me and I had the money I would buy the SEAL version just to say I own one

I could care less about the SEALs to be honest, there have been longer and better serving Spec Ops, Black Ops and Tier 1 unit than the SEALs, the reason I'm wanting that specific model is how it's made, what it's made with and the known reliability of the trigger since its set different from the combat, TacOp and normal P226. (And lighter)

Well then it looks like a p226R SRT is the choice for you.

I want either less corruption or more opportunity to participate in it.

Outside of Chicago, GatGuns had a fewP226 .40 on display earlier in the week and a 9mm Nitron in the back for about $835. Midwestguns also had a couple on display last week. Both do transfers.

The MK25 does not come with a SRT (short reset trigger) so I'm not sure what you are talking about in comparison to the P226 Combat. The MK25 comes with a fat trigger (standard trigger) and the Combat comes with a Short Trigger. DA/SA pulls are the same between the two.

SIG firearms are a bit pricey but worth the cost IMO. The SRT is worth the cost to upgrade as well. Get it done by SIG and you'll keep the lifetime warranty that comes with it too

Check out the SIG M11-A1 as well it's a bit smaller (think P229) and has similar markings and coatings to the MK25 but has the SRT trigger installed already I believe. It's the same gun issued to the elite forces if you want the cool factor.

You're right it was the P226 Elite that I was thinking of that has the SRT. But as much as I would love to look at other Sigs, M11 or the P228, I prefer the P226, plus, the P228 comes with 13 round mag in 9mm and the P226 Mk25 come with 15 round mag.

I have the 226 mk25 and love it! Very accurate gun.
