I've got a P229r in 9mm. Shoots better than me. Very well made, extremely adaptable. I don't LOVE the Nitron finish but since I am not too concerned about scratches and dings on my firearms it's not the end of the world. I would easily consider another SIG, whether P*** series or another. I also own one of their 1911s and again it performs exactly as I expected. I like the convertibility of the firearm to other calibers, but I went with the 9mm for a good start.
It's by no means inexpensive, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for, and with the SIG P*** line that certainly is the case.
SIG 1911 .45 ACP
SIG P229R 9mm
Beretta BU9 Nano 9mm
Beretta 84FS .380 ACP
Ruger MKIII 22/45 Target .22LR
