Default Possible issue with P232.

Hello, all:

I purchased a used P232 off of www.Gunbroker.com and just picked it up from my FFL dealer this evening. I note that the hammer does not sit flush against the firing pin; rather, it sits approximately 1/4" to 3/8" back from the pin. Is that normal for this gun?

It is generally normal. The feature prevents the hammer from touching the firing pin when you pull the decocker. How far back the hammer should stay, I don't know, maybe too far in your case. I'd look in the manual.

The manual is silent about this feature, but my continued research indicates, as you said, that it is normal.

Thank you.

Perfectly normal. I've had mine for years and it's still one of my favorite .380's and I do CC it now and then. It's also extremely accurate to 20 yds. or so.
