Default Need help with desicion on new sig

So I'm in the market for a new sig and while I have wanted a sig p226 in 40 s&w for awhile I was at my local gun shop and they had a 2022 and idk much about them never shot that particular model and it's priced better than the 226 so what if any differences and advantages or disadvantages of both
P.s it will be used for conceal carry and self defense and also my wife will be shooting it some so which one would be better for that as well

2 different weapons. I believe the 2022 is a 3.9" barrel and a polymer frame while the 226 is 5" and a steel frame; big difference. Both are great firearms. I'd try them both if you have a chance. Other than that, think about your use; lighter + smaller= easier to carry. And remember that with a lighter weight frame usually comes more felt recoil.

You can't go wrong with a SIG either way you go.

I have a 226 and I think it's too large to carry, unless you have baggy clothes and don't mind the weight. I don't know anything about the 2022.

Well right now I carry around my 1911 it was my wife's grand dads and has that sentimental value to it so the size isn't gonna worry me cuz cuz even tho it's concealed u can still see it some times and lets people no do mess with me lol

Well the 226 is full sized like the 1911, maybe a tad shorter, but larger capacity.

If you want something for concealed carry check out the SIG P229 its roughly the Same pistol as a P226 but shorter overall and shorter barrel.

My dad has the p229 .40 single stack for carry. He loves it. It's a lot smaller and holds 7+1 I believe.

I have a 2022 in 9mm and it is by far once of the most accurate firearms that I own. It's my everyday carry. For the price, you can't get anything better.

Default Sig 226

I looked at the 2022 but was not comfortable with it. I have a 229 in 357 Sig Cal. and love it. Just the right size and very nice to shoot and carries well. Had a226 years ago but like the 229 better. Try them both if you can. I carried a 1911 for years but now the Glock is my daily companion. Good luck and safe shooting. Dogwalk

The 2022 is a great gun. Comes in a cardboard box, only 1 mag, and not many bells and whistles, but it has the quality you expect with Sig. Can't beat a price point like that on a Sig.

IMO the p220 is where its at when it comes to Sigs. Single stack .45 double single action and a decocker. Great handgun
