They have just introduced the P227. I can't speak for them or read their corporate mind, but it seems this ship has sailed. One of the reasons we appreciate the 2022 is the value. In the US it still undersells every Glock under the sun, unlike the much more popular P series. In Europe the 2022 is the bestselling SIG, with large government contracts.

It seems the company is content with the low US sales. How often do we see the 2022 advertised in the glossy magazines? It seems SIG has decided to focus on the P series expansion in North America. They never seem to run out of new styles. That's my impression. Of course it can be overturned in an instant by a SIG boardroom decision, but right now I don't see an affordable SIG PRO in 45.

I think Mercator is probably right, but what a shame. The p2022 is a phenomenal value for the price.

Just out of curiosity, is the .45acp pretty much an American caliber? Or is it common elsewhere?

American as apple pie.
Edit: Shows up here and there, but by and large, 9mm rules the world.

I've never been in the military and have never been outside the United States...have no idea what calibers are most popular in Europe and Asia...guessing the .45 is not common elsewhere then?

Would still love to see the p2022 in .45 though

I would love it. If Sig could keep the price around $550, i would get one a heart beat. But Sig doesn't make the 2022 in 45ACP
