Always keep one thing in mind:

If you use biometrics out of your own free will, you will show the gun grabbers, that you accept that technology.
Therefore the gungrabbers will start to request biometric gunvaults or other biometric products to prevent misusage of firearms, like biometric secured bolts, that are inserted into the barrell (the company that makes that sh.t just talked infront of the UN and had been taken there by the german gungrabbers and the IANSA), or even smart technology (made by the same company).

Don`t give the grabbers any surface to argue on.

If you feel the need to have a firearm in reach for home defence, put it in a nighttable when you sleep und keep in in a holster during the day. If you are not home and don`t carry the firearm outside, put it in a good quality gunsafe with a mechincal or electronic PIN lock.

Biometrics, specially fingerprint readers can be manipulated pretty easily, by faking a print, that you will find nearly anywhere in your home and this is no James Bond mumbojumbo. It has beed prooved here in germany several times and you can find tutorials on youtube on how to fake a print.
