What kind of price/size are you looking at on the Canon? In my non-expert opinion it's only fair to compare similarly priced/sized safes against each other.

Basically here is where I stand, im looking to spend under 1000, I only have 6 long guns and three handguns at this time, but looking to get more eventually. I build each of my rifles from the ground up, so needless to say it wont be filled with a bunch of " daddys old shotguns" definitely looking for something to fit atleast 12 long guns comfortably, with storage for ammo etc.

You should go to academy sports and personally check them out they usually have the best prices. They have cannon and a couple different brands as well.

Just to throw this out there. Buy one bigger than you want without going over budget. most people that buy like a 12 or 24 gun always wind up sayin I wish I bought a bigger safe.

That's true.
My 28 gun safe with 4 handgun holsters in the door still probably only holds 6-8 long guns depending on whether or not pistol grips or magazines in them. The other side has shelves that could be removed for more long guns, but then it would primarily because a Gun safe only. Limited room for magazines, ammunition, holsters, etc.
But I knew this going in and will suffice for my needs.

Most of my rifles are bulky, so im thinking a 24 gun safe. Keep what I have sitting comfortably, with a little more room for a few more projects

I personally would recommend a liberty Fatboy jr it's a 48 gun safe and u can add a door rack later if you need to and they are rated for 1200 or 1400 degrees for 45min and they were 999.00 at lowes
