I wear cargo shorts every day (year round) and carry a Ruger LC9 in a custom pocket holster, right front pocket (and 2 spare magazines), an NAA .22 magnum Sidewinder with a folding holster grip, left front inner pocket, as a BUG, and a CRKT M21 folding knife.

A Glock 22.

Seriously.

Edit: ok I have other pocket guns. But I carried the Glock 22 in a cargo pocket for years before I bought another handgun.

It really depends on the clothes I am wearing. Some of my jeans have small pockets. A P-3AT is all I can carry in the pocket of my jeans. My uniform pants and casual shorts have big pockets. I can easily carry a Ruger P95 or a S&W model 10 in my pockets of my uniform pants. I have stuck my Blackhawk with a 6.5" barrel in my uniform pockets, just to see how it fit. I could hide the Blackhawk in the pocket but it's not something I would do all the time.

In summer, a S&W Bodyguard 380, unless I'm wearing something baggy with lotsa pockets, then either a Para Warthog or sometimes a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug. In winter, one of the above, or a Taurus PT145, in a jacket pocket.

I carry the absolute best handgun for pocket carry and that is the Sig 928. I have tried numerous small guns and this one is small, reliable, good accuracy out to 15 yards, comes with night sights, easy to rack slide and plenty potent 9mm chambering. Unfortunately, it's not cheap, but if you ever need a gun is the last thing you want to remember is how much money you saved? However, after carrying in my pocket for years I have come to the conclusion there are definite problem with pocket carry and it's not the gun. It is being able to quickly access the gun while seated or strapped in by a seatbelt.

Dragonheart: you have a valid point! When we got the Ford Escape(a 2012, bought on 1 December 2011, less then a month before we left NY), we looked for ways to secure whatever we'd be carrying when we got to Az. We came up with two safes esp. for Smaller SUV's. I will look for the paperwork and post the Company name, but any decent small safe should work for what you want,..just place it within reach of the driver's seat,..and you should be good to go...
