DefaultYour Personal Protection

Out of curiosity, what do you depend on for your personal protection? A firearm? A martial art? Some pepper spray/mace? Is there anyone that has an unusual device that they would use?

Your best protection is your BRAIN. Use it early and often.

it's a neat item carried on key chain. No one knows what it is... Until it's used! I sell them to Cops and Bouncers.... They are cool!

On time at band camp I pulled my brain and threw it at an attacker, and it just pissed him off even more.

I sometimes carry an Irish blackthorn walking stick. It has the advantage of being legal everywhere, even on airplanes, and raises no eyebrows even when taken into a courtroom or a house of worship. Also, if I should need it, it's already in my hand.

There are some excellent videos available on the use of walking sticks for defense; it's not used as one would expect, and is more effective against knife attacks and multiple attackers than anything other than a gun. My own stick still has thorn-stubs up and down its length--even better.
