I have a pistol on me when I am awake and one on, not in, the nightstand when I am in bed. At this time, my neighborhood is a nice quiet area, but the crackheads and other dopers are spreading. They are the real life zombies!!!

I know a guy who put a strip of heavy duty velcro under his computer table and the other part of the velcro on a holster. He sticks a pistol under his computer desk in that fashion. The computer desk is wooden.

Im just happy I live in an area that carrying isnt necessary and I wont go where it is a good choice. Rural Upstate NY is pretty heavily armed as I am at home but its not hazardous to walk around unarmed. Most houses have a gun or a few and random crime isnt very smart. Like Russian roulette to break into a home around here.

That doesnt mean there isnt any risk, just so minimal its not worth the bother. Besides, all my buddies are packing, no need to over due it!

I sleep with a pistol on the floor next to the bed. Live alone, no children issues any more.

Recently in Atlanta we had a women get attacked while she was taking a shower. The BG purposely waited until she was in the shower to break in and attack her.She managed to get away from him just long enough to retrieve her .22 she had hidden. She shot him 10 times before he collapsed and died.So yes, I am armed at all times, even in the shower.

Default Are you armed when at home?

I have 5 handguns loaded and stashed around the house. My kids are gone and we don't have any grandkids as of yet so I don't have much of a problem doing this. I have a Bond Arms .357 Cowboy Defender as a carry weapon plus I have 357/38 bullet loops sewn and hidden into the back side of my cell phone pouch.

I live in a great semi-rural area. I carry all day, every day. I would rather carry every day of my life and not need to than be caught without when I need a weapon.

I live in a very rural area. I carry all the time unless I go to the kids school or something, then I just put the gun into the glovebox. I never bring a loaded gun in the house. I've got my glock on the bedstand with a loaded mag by it. And I keep an AKM with a loaded mag in it but no round in the tube by the front door. My county hasn't had a homicide in like 75 years so I'm not worried about raving maniacs. When I used to live in a city, on the other hand, I kept a piece on me ALWAYS.

.45 ACP is the usual all-the-time carry choice but an S&W Model-60 has to suffice when physical exertion + heat & humidity create rivers of sweat and/or abbreviated shirt & shorts. [Even stainless steel can rust & the smaller 60 is easier to hide & clean. ] As for the repel boarders 12g, it's loaded with #1 shot. Our patrol cars had 00 but I prefer #1 because while being only slightly smaller than 00, it throws a lot more lead pellets at the BG. No kids here so I can scatter things about. Well hidden but quickly accessible. Only to me. OK for me but use what works best for you.
